Description
The Community Fundraiser from Beacon Centre for the Blind will come into school to tell students how the centre and its volunteers help people in the local community. The interactive session will highlight the innovative resources available to support people with visual impairments and those who are blind; these include aroma pens and talking clocks. Students can try different aids such as simulation glasses and walking with a cane. The talk in school can be supported by a visit to the Beacon Centre and a fundraising challenge can be set to support Section B of the Citizenship and Community Module.
