Description
This workshop consists of 3 half days. The first session introduces a range of fitness tests/activities that can be performed in a sports hall. The students will complete these activities and record their results as a base line of their fitness. The students then pick out 3 tests which they are going to try and improve on. GetSet Schools will provide guidance on how to improve each factor. We also introduce how to warm up and warm down after activity. The second visit involves GetSet Schools staff accompanying the school & students to the gym to provide guidance on how to use the equipment available to improve their fitness. Each student will receive a fitness schedule for each week to monitor their progress. Arrangements will need to be made for learners to visit a local gym if this not already in place. The final workshop is a repeat of the first, but the aim here is to see how much they students have improved in their three chosen tests and general fitness. At the end of the workshop each student receives either a bronze, silver or gold medal in recognition of their achievements. By using this workshop students can complete up to 10 CoPE challenges.
